Vice President and Deputy General Counsel / Compliance Officer - Remote Duties: Acts as the Deputy Compliance Officer, and plays a critical enterprise role working with his/her peers from other business lines. Works closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and senior management team to provide timely, practical and actionable legal advice enabling to remain one of the leaders in the industry. Provides timely, strategic, and practical legal advice and support to senior business leadership regarding business practices, corporate strategies, policy interpretation, compliance, contractual disputes, litigation, and legal trends. Participates as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Develops, drives, and implements legal strategy that supports business unit's growth. Anticipates and identifies legal issues and proactively develops effective and practical legal strategies and solutions to address risk in support of an innovative, transformative, and consumer focused business. Develops, implements, and updates legal policies, procedures, and practices in coordination with senior leadership. Specifies internal governance policies and regularly monitors compliance. Drafts and solidifies agreements, contracts, and other legal documents. Oversees and directs a legal and support team who manages all legal matters pertaining to the lines of business and its business strategy and priorities. Actively participates in annual and multi-year strategic planning activities. Responsible for hiring, developing, training, and retaining high-quality, productive employees with a focus on growing future leaders. Responsible for special strategic projects and initiatives as delegated by the Chief Compliance Officer. Serves as a thought leader to business and to the Corporate Affairs Department. Recognizes patients rights and responsibilities and supports them in the performance of job duties; respects patient's rights to privacy and confidentiality. Completes assigned paperwork/documents as directed in a timely manner. Shares knowledge gained with other staff members and works as a team member. Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner.

Qualifications: JD Degree is required. Licensed attorney in good standing is required. 5-10+ years of post-bar experience in DEA, FDA, law firm and/or an in-house corporate setting is required. Experience with executive management and board-level presentations and decision-making preferred. Prior in-house experience in a Fortune 500 public company preferably in pharma or healthcare preferred. Prior Government Affairs experience at the national level preferred. Exceptional judgment and the ability to engender immediate trust. Ability to lead a large team of legal professionals in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key constituents and be viewed as a trusted advisor to the business and someone who can see opportunities in the midst of uncertainty. Calm influence and stewardship through crisis or adverse circumstances; open, flexible, collaborative, positive and proactive disposition and communication style. Ability to influence constituencies in multiple areas of the business. Ability to innovate, anticipate the future, work toward continuous improvement. Create and lead with a sense of urgency and translate strategy into action. Communicate for impact adjusting to fit audience; clear, candid, concise, persuasive. Drive for results with energy; takes initiative; organized, resourceful and planful; skilled at marshaling multiple/matrixed resources to get things done. Strong in cross-functional communication and collaboration. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines and provide accurate information in a dynamic environment. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluation situations and advising in accordance to laws and regulations. Strong work ethic with personal qualities of integrity and credibility. Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material. Demonstrate strategic thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit. Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels. Excellent organization and communication skills.
