Associate General Counsel Litigation

Associate General Counsel Litigation Duties: Independently handle matters as well as supervise external counsel in all aspects of litigation including depositions, motion practice, mediations and trials. Strong leadership and communications skills, along with the ability to provide strategic direction and options to senior management. Work closely with the businesses, control functions and others to ensure that pre-litigation advice is provided and that issues are properly identified, elevated and, where appropriate, remediated. Required Qualifications: JD or equivalent and Requisite Bar Admission. 10+ years of professional experience in complex litigations or regulatory investigations. Significant experience at a major law firm, regulator, and/or financial services company. Previous, in-depth exposure to capital markets, institutional sales and trading, and/or commercial and investment banking matters. Experience working in a complex, demanding, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. Desired Qualifications: Highest standards of integrity. Collaborative work habits acting in the interests of a common cause and a true team player. Proactive, energetic and pragmatic approach to business and legal issues. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to non-lawyers. Ability to successfully work with clients located in different locations. Ability to listen and understand the needs of the business and other internal clients, and to integrate legal and business issues.
