Senior Corporate Counsel - Litigation and Compliance The candidate will manage and direct the response of the company in litigation, claims and disputes in areas that include commercial litigation, product incidents, employment, regulatory matter, and subpoenas, and develop recommendations for the most effective strategy for the defense or prosecution of these matters. Manage docket of potential and active litigation matters for the company and of CLO personnel in litigation and disputed areas including paralegal support. Support the preparation of company staff for legal proceedings, depositions and trial, and represent the company at EEOC hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations and depositions. Coordinate within CLO and support the development, revision and maintenance of internal manuals and enterprise-wide policies on matters related to dispute and litigation proceedings and support other CLO functions including training and education initiatives on legal-related subjects. Support the development, revision, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and technical and organizational controls to ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including in areas such as export controls, sanctions, and environmental compliance. Coordinate on the management external counsel, as necessary, in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with CLO Billing guidelines. Coordinate third-party vendors retained by UL on any litigation or dispute matters. Maintain an awareness of proposed and existing legislation and evolving trends in local, national and international statutes and laws related to litigation and compliance matters and related subjects. Perform other legal duties as directed by the ACG or other CLO leadership.

The candidate should have a JD degree and 7+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or fast-paced and innovative corporate legal department. Bar admission in good standing. In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations. Experience in the following legal areas is strongly preferred: product liability; commercial and contract disputes; antitrust and trade regulation; personal injury; export control and sanctions; environmental. Experience in taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and attending hearings and trials. Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to use sound judgment, provide guidance, and make key decisions in a demanding and fast-paced environment. Ability to contribute as a team player and work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and business leaders to fulfill and advance company strategy. Ability to multi-task and organize workflow independently in response to the company's strategic priorities and objectives. Willingness to travel.
