Corporate Counsel, Privacy The candidate will build strong cross-functional relationships to achieve successful business outcomes. Review and negotiate data processing agreements (DPAs), security addenda, and agreements intended to facilitate the sharing of personal data. Maintain the privacy team's templates and guidance across internal sites and collaboration tools. Assist with data mapping and documentation of Article 30 records of processing, complying with data subject requests, and data management. Provide timely and pragmatic legal advice to business stakeholders. Stay informed of applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance that may impact the company's privacy practices. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Should have a JD from a top law school; member of at least one state bar in good standing. Should have 3+ years of direct experience (post-bar) in the legal practice of privacy or technology law and negotiation of DPAs. In-house experience preferred. Experience negotiating partnership and data-sharing agreements or security addenda is a plus. IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or willingness to complete such certification within a reasonable time following hire is desirable. Must have demonstrates knowledge of key privacy concepts, terms, and compliance obligations for state, federal, and international regulations and laws about the use of personal data. Must have the ability to understand and apply the foundational privacy principles outlined in the GDPR and CCPA, as well as to effectively communicate these concepts to stakeholders. Must have strong relationship-building, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Proven ability to successfully multi-task, remain responsive and agile to changes in business priorities, and deliver pragmatic, risk-based recommendations. Must have demonstrated the ability to work and manage time spent on projects independently.
