Corporate Counsel The candidate oversees compliance with applicable statutes and regulations, reviews pertinent laws and regulations, and provides legal advice. Monitors and assists employees and contractors with individual licensing. Reviews and files Company regulatory filings in multiple states. Maintains compliance and project calendar while monitoring task status. Recommends alternative actions as required to conform with state and federal regulations. Drafts and reviews company contracts as needed. Assists accounting department with examinations and audits. Possesses and maintains thorough, current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. Communicates and coordinates with independent attorneys in multiple states. Reviews coverage determination requests for policyholders (rotating, on-call responsibility). Performs other related duties as assigned by General Counsel. The candidate must have a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution, be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, and be in good standing. Should have 1-4 years of related experience or equivalent. Prior experience working in insurance law, in-house counsel, or corporate law experience is a plus. Develops and coordinates projects. Communicate changes, gives progress updates, and complete projects on time. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work effectively and efficiently across multiple departments. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Knowledge and/or deep appreciation for self-defense rights, law-abiding gun ownership, the U.S. Constitution, and founding principles of the United States.?
