Counsel, Government Business Segment Regulatory Counsel The candidate will protect and facilitate the growth of the Government Business Segment, with an emphasis on Medicare programs. Prepare various internal and external intercompany agreements to facilitate enterprise growth initiatives and ensure compliance. Review and draft contracts, company policies, workflow processes and other operational documents necessary to facilitate the growth and scaling of the company operations. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging healthcare regulations, and regulatory and enforcement environment affecting the business to minimize risk; with a focus on guidance, regulations and trends from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Research, interpret and advise the business on applicable Medicare regulations. Serve as a strategic advisor to the business team and enterprise colleagues on the impact and response to proposed and new rules, regulations and legislation. Work closely with Business Operations, Compliance and Legal colleagues to identify and reduce known and potential regulatory, legal and business risks. Provide interpretative and practical advice regarding oversight and compliance requirements of the business. The candidate should have a J.D. from accredited law school/Bar membership. Should have 5 years of corporate legal department or law firm experience; experience supporting health plan clients strongly preferred. Broad knowledge of regulated health care law; proficient in regulatory analysis. Foundational knowledge of the Medicare program required. Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills, including contract drafting and negotiation skills. Interpersonal skills to develop and manage relationships with clients at all levels. Ability to identify issues and propose actionable legal and business solutions. Track record of project and process management. Strong work ethic with effective time-management skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Demonstrated good judgment and attention to detail. Ability and desire to learn new subject areas and willingness to take on new responsibilities.
