Assistant Corporate Counsel RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, revise, and approve contracts for client stakeholders. Identify and analyze employment-related legal issues, draft key documents, present clear recommendations on employment matters, and assure legal compliance. Plan, manage and direct the provision of legal advice counsel, and representation (both internal and external) in order to protect the company's interests and operations under the law. Assist in developing and conducting preventative law programs for company employees. Ensure organizational compliance with laws, regulations, and industry and company policies. Stays current on pertinent federal laws, regulations, rulings, interpretations, and court decisions as they relate to BCW operations. Provides interface with external counsel. Represents Versiti at designated internal and external meetings. Participates in professional activities to stay current on legal trends and industry regulations. Upholds the customer service standards and management philosophy of Versiti.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate is required. Certified or potential eligibility to practice law in Wisconsin is required. Should have 3-5 years of high-quality legal experience with an emphasis on (i) contract drafting, negotiation, and review, preferably with an emphasis on health care and scientific research; and, (ii) employment law. Ability to provide thorough analysis on legal issues, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments. Ability to implement and monitor repeatable, controlled processes. Principles, methods, and practices of legal research in support of policies, operations, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Highly developed analytical, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills to research, analyze and apply legal principles, facts, and precedents to legal issues. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to influence others, negotiate and close legal agreements. Strong customer focus, with outstanding interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills. Participative management style with strong team skills. Proficiency Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
