Associate Director, Privacy Contracts Attorney

Associate Director, Privacy Contracts Attorney The candidate will be monitoring the data privacy regulatory landscape and identifying new requirements that would require updates to our standard contract templates. Collaborating with stakeholders on monitoring, drafting, and updating data privacy agreement templates. Coordinating with internal teams and external resources to negotiate and finalize data privacy language in third-party agreements. Responding to domestic and international privacy contracting questions. Coordinating and managing escalations with internal stakeholders. Managing updates to data privacy contracting playbook. Creating data processing tools and training materials. Managing office hours with internal business partners. Developing and training on privacy contracting tools and requirements. Maintaining subject matter expertise in global data transfer, data use, and data protection laws. Leveraging internal tools to implement privacy contracting compliance. Should have a JD with excellent law school credentials. Licensed to practice law in New York or be eligible for licensure as a registered in-house counsel is preferred. At least 6 to 10 years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house, including biotech/pharmaceutical and/or health care experience. Strong knowledge of contracts and related law; Experience working in/with biotech/pharmaceutical industry; Experience with contracts involving data privacy; Experience with contracts involving intellectual property. You should also have a high level of business acumen; Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills; Exceptional oral and written communication skills; Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Should have the ability to work independently, while meeting aggressive deadlines and juggling multiple matters. Able to maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining a strong partnership with client organizations and protecting the firm's interests. Work effectively and professionally with colleagues and clients at all levels of the organization and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Ability to effectively work with colleagues and key stakeholders, including senior management, on contracts group policies, and procedures.
