Counsel, Construction and Procurement Responsibilities: Focused on the provision of procurement and construction legal advice in connection with renewable energy project development, construction and operations in all technologies (onshore, offshore, solar, battery storage). Draft and negotiate of construction and procurement contracts, such as turbine supply agreements, the balance of plant agreements, EPC(I) & turnkey contracts, purchase agreements for components, O&M agreements, service agreements and vessel charter contracts, associated exhibits and ancillary documents. Provide legal support on HSE, R&D, IP, IT and insurance matters. Provide analysis and summarization of complicated transactional documents and advising senior management and internal business teams about the related legal risks. Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization and developing strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk. Collaborate with a variety of business stakeholders, including procurement, construction, tax, credit, accounts payable, and accounting. Provide legal advice in case of disputes. Coordinate and collaborate activities of outside legal counsels when necessary. Act independently to take ownership for projects for the Legal Department; collaborate and communicate with various stakeholders and Senior Management. Alignment and cooperation with the Company's US General Counsel and team leads, the Legal Department's team members in Chicago, Illinois and Austin, Texas as well as worldwide including Germany, UK, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Australia and Japan, as well as any business partners that the Legal Department supports. Comfortable with exposure to senior company management, communicating clearly, capable of acting with independence and taking ownership for a project for the Legal Department. Qualifications: Licensed, or the ability to become licensed, to practice law in Illinois or Texas. Should have 3+ years of experience in working on complex construction projects or related procurement in a law firm or a company. Legal knowledge and experience in construction work in the field of renewable energy, highly preferred. Outstanding commercial, technical and strategic understanding practical rather than theoretical focus to legal issues with a view to finding viable business solutions for those legal issues. Outstanding understanding of group-wide economic interrelationships, customer centrism and ability to develop solutions in international and interdisciplinary large-scale projects of very high complexity. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, judgment, enthusiasm and interpersonal skills together with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced international and multicultural environment. Ability to demonstrate practical rather than theoretical focus to legal issues with a view to finding viable business solutions for those legal issues. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
