Corporate Counsel

Corporate Counsel, Amazon Devices and Digital Services DUTIES: Support the devices team by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of contracts, including marketing agreements, development agreements, license agreements, design services agreements, and talent agreements. Provide counseling in a range of legal areas, including intellectual property (e.g., open-source), technology development, privacy, and security. Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and engineer processes that allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS: J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in one State Bar. Should have 5+ years of practice as a transactional attorney, preferably with some portion of that experience dealing with hardware, software, or technology development transactions. Deep understanding of intellectual property. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience focused on issues related to privacy, data protection or related regulatory matters (e.g., data protection regulation such as CCPA, GDPR, or LGPD). A mix of law firm and in-house experience a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow-through, and meet deadlines. Ability to understand complex technical details. Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
