Senior Counsel-Mortgage Litigation Duties: The candidate will manage a large portfolio of moderately complex home mortgage defensive litigation matters. Identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution. Assess the legal risk associated with all risk types and develop strategies for reducing legal exposure. Provide strategic direction to and collaborate with outside counsel. Prepare litigation reports tailored to specific internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate within the Legal Department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent. Provide guidance to senior management on legal and regulatory matters with significant impact on business initiatives, strategy, and performance. Serve as the primary legal contact for assigned clients. May educate, train, and supervise less experienced attorneys within the Legal Department. May lead initiatives of varying scope and complexity.

Required Qualifications: Should have 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education. Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States. Desired Qualifications: Experience as a practicing attorney including relevant in-house experience, in at least one of the following areas of home mortgage litigation, consumer lending litigation, financial services, and/or commercial litigation. Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in the area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on legal matters. Experience in state and federal mortgage-related laws and regulations. Experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues. Ability to identify, analyze, and escalate risk. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and transparency. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; and ability to appropriately communicate to senior leaders and business clients. Experience with complex discovery and eDiscovery. Knowledge and experience with class action matters at all litigation stages. to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters. Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration. Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team. Demonstrated ability to work with executives, and mentor and develop junior attorneys.
