Data Privacy Counsel The candidate will support privacy due diligence in M&A activities. Provide day-to-day legal counsel to the Global Data Privacy Office with respect to a variety of queries requiring legal guidance. Be a part of the team that evaluates data privacy impact assessments (PIAs), and data transfer impact assessments and identify appropriate supplemental data protection measures. Draft Privacy Notice & Consent for certain activities (e.g., from PIAs or new projects that arise). Liaise with outside counsel and internal stakeholders. Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments related to the scope of the role, including preparing quarterly reporting to Privacy Counsel and Data Privacy Advisory Council. Serve as primary Privacy Counsel for Strategic Corporate Projects (e.g., center-led / HQ-driven projects that span multiple jurisdictions). Assist in the design or preparation of processes to identify data mapping, flows and inventory, vendor contracts as it relates to data privacy. Write and manage privacy policies, procedures, documentation, and company guidance. Manage and assist with legal escalations relating to data subject requests, data protection impact assessments, and records of processing activities. Help develop global, regional, and country privacy and data protection practices. Advise on operational and process requirements for the implementation of privacy regulations and obligations. Issue spot and effectively and clearly communicate compliance obligations, on a global and country basis. Develop assessments that evaluate risks related to company programs and initiatives relative to compliance obligations. Provide advice and counsel on privacy and data protection incident investigations and response and mitigation workstreams, in partnership with FMC's Data Privacy Incident Response Team. Should have a Juris Doctor. Must have 7-10 years of related experience in a global, highly matrixed organization. Familiarity with third-party privacy & security risk management platforms and tools like ServiceNow, Archer, OneTrust, BitSight, SecurityScorecard, Ariba. Must have proficiency of principles and concepts of the following areas: Global and regional data privacy and protection. Data breach requirements. Data Subject Rights. Data Protection Authorities. Standard Contractual Clauses. GDPR (EU General Data Privacy Regulation). LGPD (Brazil's privacy law). U.S. State and federal privacy laws.
