Senior Attorney, Labor And Employment The candidate will engage collaboratively to enable the business as a subject matter expert providing advice and legal counsel relating to the labor and employment affairs of the company. Counseling the business on traditional labor and employment issues as well as representing the company in front of federal and state agencies and opposing counsel in defending administrative charges and grievance arbitrations arising from unionized facilities. Serve as a legal subject matter expert helping to set legal strategy and providing advice and counsel on employment matters including but not limited to employee discipline and discharge, reorganizations, restructuring and acquisitions, disability management including the intersection of FMLA, ADA, and workers compensation matters. Manage the grievance arbitration caseload for unionized manufacturing facilities as well as the end-to-end management of responses to administrative charges. This includes investigation, drafting, and filing written responses to EEOC and NLRB charges. Juris Doctorate and licensed attorney is needed. Should have 2-6 years of experience with traditional labor law and employment discrimination law in a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal environment with a track record of providing practical business enabling advice. Strong knowledge of labor and employment laws, rules and regulations, as well as industry leading-practices and standards are needed. Experience providing labor and employment counsel to consumer-facing business and HR related activities are essential. Excellent writing skills; strong and effective communications and client relationship/management skills are required. Experience managing outside counsel and comfort in working as part of virtual teams are needed. Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork and ability to influence through collaboration is needed. Should have the ability to handle multiple tasks (including those out of one's comfort zone) and prioritize work in a deadline-intensive environment while continuing to provide highly responsive service.
