Corporate Counsel The candidate will draft, review and negotiate various agreements, including contract manufacturing, supply, sales and distribution, services, endorsement, licensing, confidentiality and indemnity agreements, across all functions as needed for the business to achieve its strategic objectives. Provide creative and proactive legal support on a broad range of legal issues, such as employment law, consumer law and data privacy, as requested to proactively manage legal risks where exposures exist. Provide assistance with coordination of litigation, government investigations, third-party subpoenas, and other disputes involving the business. Maintain a working knowledge of all company policies and procedures, including laws and regulations applicable to the business. Develop relationships to become a trusted advisor, creative problem-solver, and partner to cross-functional groups. Should have a Degree or equivalent experience: J.D. degree with strong academic credentials from a top U.S. law school, and a bachelor's degree from a top university. Must have 6 years of related legal experience, preferably with time spent in a top-tier law firm and/or global consumer products company in the Food/Beverage industry. General business and commercial law experience, including advising clients on commercial transactions and business development needs. Experience with employment and labor matters, including drafting employment agreements and policies, considered a plus. Experience handling class action and other complex litigation in multiple jurisdictions considered a plus. Member in good standing of at least one state bar association (IL preferred). Sound business and legal judgment, with the ability to balance business objectives and risk mitigation. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to professionalism and collegiality. Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal direction. Creative problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain the highest degree of ethics.
