Principal Corporate Counsel - Datacenter Energy Responsibilities: Working on energy connection agreements and energy supply agreements for new data centers and data center expansions. Structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex agreements to support the purchase of renewable energy. Formulating and drafting agreements for deploying innovative services or technologies toward meeting corporate sustainability targets. Identifying and resolving business and legal risks, advising on regulatory matters, and providing input on proposals for regulatory change related to data center energy. Handling day-to-day project-related legal issues. Collaborating with team members within and across organizational boundaries, including clients, other deal team lawyers, legal specialists, government affairs, and PR professionals. Exercising independent judgment on legal matters to counsel middle and senior management clients.

Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree or Equivalent International Degree OR Completion of a Legal Apprenticeship Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in the relevant jurisdiction. Should have 5+ years experience as a practicing attorney OR equivalent practice of law. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years experience as an attorney in a specialized practice area (electricity transactions in the U.S., and electricity regulations in the U.S. Additionally, some experience with energy transactions and regulations in Canada and/or Latin American is advantageous for this role). In-house counsel experience. High personal standards of commitment and integrity. Strong results orientation, customer focus, a commitment to providing the highest quality client service, and a desire to develop trusted advisor relationships with business clients. Capability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow, and adjust to frequent fluctuations in workload and business imperatives.
