Government Contracts Attorney The candidate will research and monitor key federal, state and local compliance requirements, whether industry best practices and guidelines or legal and regulatory obligations. Develop scalable and sustainable legal operations processes, programs and tools to support the Department s effective and efficient delivery of legal services. Support and advise internal clients, and assist other attorneys, on the development and implementation of enterprise-wide regulatory and compliance processes, programs and policies. Advice on various transactional matters, including software licenses, cloud or software-as-a-service subscriptions, direct material sourcing agreements, and professional service contracts. Counsel cross-functional stakeholders on operational, technology, regulatory, compliance, and commercial matters.

The candidate should be background focused on transactional or regulatory matters related to highly regulated areas such as human research or human spaceflight. A Juris Doctor from the top tier, accredited U.S. college or university and membership in at least one U.S. State Bar (Preferably Texas, Florida, or California). Should have 3+ years of legal experience in-house in the federal government or aerospace or technology-focused mid-sized corporation with a focus on transactional and regulatory matters. Significant experience with U.S. government contracting, including Federal Acquisition Regulations and agency-specific regulations. Interest in process improvement for contract lifecycle management or compliance with a focus on automated solutions. Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills. Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude. Experience with agencies such as NASA, FAA or DOT, or DOC is highly preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and make and communicate the rationale behind key decisions in a constantly evolving fast-paced work environment. Ability to take on ownership of projects ad hoc and drive them from beginning to end. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and proactive; creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements. Self-assured and energetic self-starter; proactive about learning and motivated to take on additional responsibilities over time. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to integrate quickly into a small team and represent the company with integrity. Professional, confident, driven and dynamic.
