SVP, General Counsel & Data Compliance Officer Responsibilities: Lead legal team processes for drafting, reviewing, and seeking approvals for all pending agreements (NDAs, MSAs, data licenses, etc.). Support business-side negotiations and participate in development of agreement strategy. Ensure that all pending and in-force agreements are consistent with corporate strategy and policies. Lead communications with leadership to ensure that business and legal risks, as well as opportunities for the organization are fully understood, documented and communicated. Provide legal advice as requested related to human resources, vendor relationships, and general corporate matters. Make recommendations for and lead communications with outside counsel as required. Structure and lead operations of Alliant InfoSec and Data Governance teams. Monitor and evaluate developing regulations and best practices for consumer privacy and data security. Partner with outside resources, industry groups, data governance, technology, and infrastructure teams to define and deploy appropriate standards and procedures. Provide ongoing guidance to senior leadership regarding developments in data, privacy, internet trends and advertising law. Establish and validate internal privacy controls to ensure contracts, documentation and communication processes are compliant with current regulations, contractual requirements and industry best practices. Design and lead skills and process trainings for internal teams as necessary. Ensure maintenance of contract library with proper documentation, and that renewals for existing contracts are managed consistently. Qualifications: J.D. with 5+ years of experience in a corporate environment. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the New York state bar. Must be a subject matter expert in current regulations concerning digital and offline advertising, data management, and consumer privacy. Must demonstrate a track record of success in mentoring and leading teams in Legal, Compliance and Data Governance roles. Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Must be familiar with FCRA/FACTA regulations, professional experience a plus. Must have demonstrated experience in structuring contractual agreements for data licensing, data acquisition, and product development. Current privacy and/or cybersecurity certifications is a plus, or must be willing to obtain appropriate certification(s) in first year of employment. Must exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to have fun while working under pressure.
