Data Privacy and Compliance, Senior Associate Counsel DUTIES: Directs and oversees the work of a team of Data Privacy Compliance Analyst(s). Supports the Company's overall data privacy legal compliance efforts. Assists with the development and tracking of Program metrics (e.g., against monitoring activities, breaches, unauthorized disclosures, etc.) to support internal and external reporting obligations (including to the Company's executive management team). Ensures that documentation/data related to Program compliance is organized, accurate, and captured in a centralized location to facilitate the reporting of Program-related obligations. Develops, updates, and maintains comprehensive procedures and standard work instructions to govern workstreams handled by the Data Privacy Compliance Analysts. Promotes data privacy compliance awareness across the Company by assisting with content development for the Company's annual global privacy training as well as identifying training gaps and creating/presenting content to address those gaps. Contributes to the continual improvement and enhancement of the Program by assisting with the ongoing review and updating of data privacy policies, SOPs, and related documentation to reflect changes to the data privacy legal and regulatory framework as well as industry developments. Leads and/or participates in internal cross-functional as well as customer meetings/calls concerning data privacy incidents and in response to customer inquiries about Program requirements. Remains informed about and interprets the potential impact of changes to global data privacy laws and regulations. Serves as a liaison between the Data Privacy Compliance Analyst and Data Privacy Attorney teams. Provides support to other members of the Data Privacy Department as well as to other departments, as necessary, as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Membership in good standing with one State bar. Should have 7 years of relevant experience operationalizing compliance with, as well as negotiating agreements in compliance with, global data privacy laws and regulations in the Americas and globally, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PIPL, CPPA. Prior experience as a people manager of attorneys and/or non-attorneys preferred, with a proven ability to lead and inspire others to do their best work. Strong interpersonal and communication skills that can be leveraged with internal stakeholders up to the senior management level as well as with customers and vendors to drive and, when needed, reconcile data privacy compliance requirements with business needs. Excellent legal judgment and business savvy, with an appropriate understanding of the need (and willingness) to assess risk. Adept at analyzing and interpreting data privacy laws and regulations and providing practical, implementable advice to attorneys and non-attorneys. Adept at clearly and succinctly explaining complicated legal concepts to non-legal audiences both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with data privacy laws and regulations in the healthcare, pharma, biotech or other related regulated, industry.
