US Privacy Counsel-Remote Duties: The candidate will analyze complex questions resulting from privacy assessments of new or enhanced products, helping evaluate risk for business units and senior leadership. Advise on implementation of new or changed privacy regulations. Escalation point for advice on day-to-day compliance with existing privacy regulations. Monitor for changes in regulatory/legal landscape around privacy and data protection. Provide legal support for privacy-related consumer complaints. Draft, update, and regularly review privacy notices, policies and procedures as necessary. Review and approve privacy training as necessary. Assist with advising on privacy-related contract clauses. Assist with privacy legal support of data incidents.

Qualifications: The candidate should have J.D. and 4+ years of relevant experience as a US privacy attorney. Expertise in US privacy and data protection laws such as CCPA/CPRA, CPA, VCDPA, and COPPA required. Keen understanding of the changing landscape of US privacy laws, regulations, and guidance. Experience implementing the intricacies of US privacy laws, particularly in financial services or other highly regulated industries, is preferred. Experience reviewing new products and services to evaluate privacy and data use risks is required. Experience reviewing and drafting external-facing privacy notices and internal privacy policies is required. Demonstrable understanding of how privacy laws impact and are impacted by, technology. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to communicate difficult legal concepts, anticipate potential objections, and persuade senior business leaders to adopt a different point of view. Ability to foster relationships and become a trusted business partner. High level of ethics and integrity in professional matters, sensitivity to confidentiality, and respect for individuals. Detail-oriented with proven organizational skills and analytical ability; Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work well under time pressure under limited to zero oversight. International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) CIPP or similar certifications are preferred. Experience with OneTrust preferred.
