Intellectual Property Counsel Duties: Be taking the lead with regard to strategies for IP, filing patent applications, maintenance of our existing portfolio, filing continuations, freedom-to-operate analyses and driving opportunities for IP expansion. Communicate and work with external parties (external counsel, examiners, etc.) on intellectual property topics. Work in areas other than IP: transactions, corporate governance, regulatory. Manage associates (in the future)

Qualifications: An advanced degree in a science or engineering discipline with hands-on experience with flow cytometry or a related field. J.D. degree at 5 years working in a law firm or in-house environment. Experience prosecuting and examining IP in flow cytometry and/or hematology, including a background in microfluidics. Excellent knowledge and understanding of IP law and procedures. Sound judgment and ability to analyze situations and information. Outstanding communication skills.
