Senior Associate Counsel, Insurance Operations Law (Remote) Responsibilities: Provide solution-oriented legal advice to enable business units to achieve business objectives in compliance with applicable law and regulations. Research and determine applicable and pertinent laws, statutes, regulations, rules, cases, and other legal authority. Monitor and review new laws, regulations, and case law; identify and summarize relevant issues; Collaborate with other areas of Law and Regulation; Proactively provide advice and counsel to business unit on the impact of new laws on business. Review and provide legal advice related to company documents, policy, practices, and procedures. Draft, review and/or negotiate basic matters and agreements. Draft and/or review the routine correspondence and communications. Gather facts from client to understand goals and objectives client intends to achieve from intended action. Partner with business colleagues to develop and implement change. Determine if/how business processes /practices need to be modified and work with client to implement change. Determthe ineextent of other areas of responsibility (AOR) involvement; Inform other Area of Responsibility (AOR s) that may be impacted; Elevate the issue if necessary. Recommend and obtain appropriate approval for resolution, if warranted. Collaborate and align regarding strategy determination, action planning, and communication with client, business units, and other areas of Law and Regulation, as appropriate. Manage moderately complex projects including development of meeting materials and coordination with senior management. Provide project management, coordination, and collaboration between legal teams within Law and Regulation and with business clients, as appropriate.

Qualifications: Should have a Juris doctorate and a license to practice law in State of Practice (and/or other states as required). Must have 3+ years experience in law firm, regulatory agency, and/or in-house legal department. Auto Insurance and Auto Rating product experience are a plus. Computer skills, including MS Office suite, used in or related to the tasks performed. Exercises discretion and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information. Practices with strong ethics and integrity. Ability to work in a Remote work environment else Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance. Legal knowledge, with a customer-centric focus, strategic thinker, sound and practical business judgment, analytical skills with interest in embracing technology and data, excellent written/verbal communication, works well in a collaborative team environment, adaptable, strong relationship building skills, business knowledge, issue management, analytical skills, influencing others (inside and outside the company), coaching and development, self-development; ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines, and productivity.
