Corporate Counsel: Litigation The candidate will defend and resolve disputes and litigations in a cost-effective, timely and successful manner. Research and analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, insightful and practical legal advice. Meet e-discovery obligations and manage document collections with assistance of paralegal support. Manage outside counsel spend by exercising appropriate budgeting and oversight. Assist with periodic reporting, disclosure and reserving obligations. Build and maintain productive relationships with key business clients and other in-house counsel. Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and business practices. Should have a J.D. and excellent academic credentials. Admission to state and federal bar. Should have 4+ years of litigation experience. Experience in the life insurance and annuity industry is strongly required. Experience in employment law is strongly preferred. Superior analytical and oral and written communications skills. Demonstrates initiative and must be motivated, a self-starter who can succeed in a fast-paced environment. Exhibits flexibility and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks towards completion (i.e., establish priorities, adhere to deadlines). Willingness to partner with colleagues and business partners to contribute to the success of the company.
