Attorney - Equipment Finance (hybrid)

Attorney - Equipment Finance (hybrid) The candidate works with sales, operations, and credit functions in developing and implementing and revising necessary legal policies and documentation for commercial truck, tractor, trailer, bus and other specialized transportation and commercial equipment financing products in the United States. Negotiates and documents a variety of working capital, retail finance and wholesale transactions. General support of legal compliance function, which may include state finance company licensing, anti-corruption (FCPA) and anti-competition, anti-money laundering, know-your-customer and data privacy matters and training. Provides legal support for the restructuring of troubled transactions and litigation/bankruptcy oversight. Performs general corporate work, such as vendor contracts. Participates in special projects relating to business transformation and regulatory developments. The candidate should have a Juris Doctor Degree (JD) and 5 years of experience as an attorney. Strong analytical ability together with reliably sound business judgment and a balanced approach to risk mitigation. Ability to multitask and manage a variety of projects. Strong oral and written communicator with an aptitude for critical thinking and a demonstrated ability to explain complex issues clearly and accurately to a non-legal audience. Demonstrated commitment to compliance, integrity, and quality. Strong ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively and make on-the-spot risk calls. Ability to prioritize conflicting demands from multiple business clients in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate, build relationships, gain credibility, and partner effectively with others throughout the organization. A self-directed, solution-focused individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve enterprise-wide results. Ability to strategically guide the organization through change and inspire others to get involved and solve problems. Knowledge and experience in key legal trends that impact the business. Ability to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback and provide guidance with confidence. Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues worldwide from many different cultures. Member in good standing of the IL Bar or the bar of a reciprocal state.
