Lead Counsel, Privacy (Consent) The candidate will lead and set the vision for a team of privacy counsels, advising on complex and novel privacy legal issues that affect products across the company. Develop and drive global company strategy on issues such as consent, sensitive data, access rights, and more. Work closely with product, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams, as well as other legal stakeholders. Drive high-impact privacy initiatives to meet privacy requirements and best practices, by advising a product, business and legal stakeholders across the company. Facilitate a consistent and sustainable approach to complex and novel privacy issues across the company by developing strategies and driving leadership alignment. Maintain subject matter expertise in multiple areas of privacy and evaluate the impact of relevant requirements (US state and federal privacy laws and regulations, GDPR and other global privacy laws), regulatory guidance, and enforcement actions.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US State Bar. Must have 5+ years of practicing attorney experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience. Demonstrated expertise with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant for social media, ad tech and internet companies is required. Demonstrated business judgment, willingness to provide practical solutions, and client counseling experience is desired. Demonstrated experience in understanding technology and enthusiasm for innovations is an asset. Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment is a plus.
