Corporate Counsel The candidate will support all One80 business units, which include insurance managing general agents and underwriters, third party administrators, brokerage operations, binding authority divisions, aggregators, warranties / service contract writers, and more. Provide advice and support to various cross-functional corporate other internal business partners on a wide range of insurance regulatory and compliance matters. Draft, review, and negotiation a wide range of commercial contracts and manage related contract life-cycles. Provide legal advice on day-to-day operations and special projects such as acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures and participate in various teams to review insurance regulatory issues and provide assistance in setting, documenting and communicating policies and procedures. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including other members of the legal team and other corporate functions, to resolve issues and mitigate risks. Support senior members of the Legal & Compliance Department and assist with a range of other projects from time to time. Conduct legal research, as needed. A J. D. from an accredited US law school in the US and membership in at least one State Bar. Should have 2-4 years of experience in-house or at a nationally recognized law firm. CPCU, ARe or other Institute's designations are a plus. Experience handling contracts and demonstrable experience in one or more of the areas of responsibility. Mature judgment with the ability to build relationships and engender confidence across the entire organization. Ability to work collaboratively across the entire organization and interact effectively with senior managers and other internal clients. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in pragmatic, business-friendly terms to a wide range of audiences, including senior management. Organized planner with strong analytical skills and the capacity to work simultaneously on a variety of diverse projects within strict time constraints. Proactive and capable of working both independently and cooperatively as part of a broader team. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong Microsoft word and excel skills as well as the ability to learn and efficiently utilize technology platforms and software solutions, as required. Self-starter who exudes a roll-up-the-shirt-sleeves attitude.
