Director and Assistant General Counsel, Corporate Security & Resiliency Legal The candidate will work together with colleagues in Legal, Privacy, Info Governance & Data Protection, Corporate Security and Resiliency, Ethics and Compliance, Business Groups, Enterprise Operations, and more to drive a holistic approach, minimize gaps and barriers among a wide variety of stakeholders. Review, adapt, and/or create timely training topics, together with other Legal functions for meeting needs across the company while minimizing repetition. Stay current with global, regional, and local laws, regulations, and procedures to guide the company and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, laws and regulations. This role will provide legal counsel and guidance on a wide variety of legal matters including: engagement with local law enforcement authorities, business continuity and resiliency, maintaining secure and safe environments which arise from the operation of a large, complex, geographically dispersed and technology-driven organization. Provide legal advice and practical guidance to Corporate Security and Resiliency, HR and Intellectual Property teams, and more to guide 3M's senior leaders, managers, colleagues, and clients in the United States and globally (for global projects involving United States) to ensure current and proposed activities, policies, business practices and transactions comply with applicable industry standards, laws, and regulations. Carry out the direction and strategy for SVP General Counsel of Information & Digital, & Chief Privacy Officer, including guiding and advising on applicable regulatory best practices and procedures, laws, and regulations, implementation of the robust corporate crisis management program, including drafting and updating company policies and processes. Cooperate with local, regional, and global business group counsels and legal subject-matter experts to improve 3M's business continuity and resiliency, projects, set goals, oversee progress, and deliver results to ensure the company's compliance with our corporate crisis management and security frameworks.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctor degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited law school and 8+ years in corporate security and resiliency in a private, public, non-profit, government, or military environment. Member of at least one State Bar (United States) in good standing. Certification from relevant professional organizations, such as the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Working experience in an AmLaw 100 firm and/or Fortune 500 environment in an attorney role is strongly preferred. Knowledge of and experience with GDPR, China PIPL, Brazil LGPD, HIPAA, CCPA and other U.S. state and federal privacy laws, along with overlap and impact on data governance. Possesses knowledge of business processes within diverse industries, including, product development and approval, manufacturing, marketing, and selling. Understands public policy and a wide range of industry developments, the legislative and liability implications of business decisions. Advanced understanding of global data governance trends, best practices and legal and regulatory requirements. Ability to form well-founded assumptions and formulate clear decisions and precise recommendations from diverse facts and information.
