Legal Counsel (Compliance) Duties: Advises on ethical, legal and regulatory compliance matters across the company in a wide range of areas, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, competition, economic and trade sanctions, conflicts of interest, human rights, and data privacy/protection. Works with the Corporate Secretary to manage and maintain a world class global compliance and ethics function, including participation in the company's compliance committee meetings reporting the Board of Directors. Proactively identifies compliance risk areas and strategies to mitigate them; and evaluate new compliance challenges. Develops and maintains strong working relationships throughout the company to ensure effective business and cross-functional relationships. Drives program objectives, milestones, metrics and reporting to continually enhance and scale the company's global compliance and ethics programs. Develops, maintains and regularly assesses policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Conducts, oversees and provides support in connection with internal investigations. Keeps abreast of developments in federal, state, and international privacy and data security laws and regulations. Prepares and delivers reports for senior management on the operation and performance of the company's Compliance and Ethics function and programs. Sets department goals and key results, and effectively manages team resources, including internal budgets in connection therewith. Ensures updates to policies and processes are properly implemented for the business to address legal and privacy requirements, including data subject access requests, privacy impact assessments, and records of processing activities. Supports, counsels and, as needed, responds to data breaches and other incidents. Develops and delivers creative and effective ethics, compliance and privacy training and awareness campaigns. Works with and guides specialized external legal counsel to ensure that the Company's strategies and interests are being supported and advanced appropriately. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to high ethical standards.

Qualifications: University degree and 10 years+ relevant experience. Candidates in other jurisdictions where Gildan operates may also be considered. Law degree with strong academic credentials required. License to practice in South Carolina or eligible for license under Rule 405. Should have 2-6 years of relevant ethics, compliance and data privacy law experience, preferably with a renowned law firm or global corporation. Professional, highly organized and detail oriented. Team player who is willing to take on a variety of tasks.
