Managing Counsel, Trade Compliance The candidate will risk-tailored advice to business units worldwide as trade compliance concerns are identified, frequently mid-deal or on a time-sensitive basis. Strategic advice for business growth in high-risk geographies in the face of changing and potentially conflicting legal requirements. Advice to cross-functional groups, often including non-lawyers, on the creation, review, and enhancement of trade-compliance-related business processes (e.g., sanctioned-party screening). Support and advise team conducting sanctioned-party screening, ensuring legal requirements are met for their processes. Review/investigate potential trade compliance violations and, as needed, advise on remediation efforts (e.g., recommending business process improvements, evaluating voluntary self-disclosure options, drafting/reviewing submissions to government agencies, and coordinating with outside counsel). Monitor regulatory developments that may affect Adobe's business globally, especially with divergence in international regulations. Identify trade compliance controls and gaps and work with cross-functional groups to develop solutions. Supervise other trade compliance activities such as export classification, M&A activity and integration, and managing outside counsel. A passion for ethics and compliance, a strong moral compass, a keen sense of curiosity, and exceptional judgment. Law degree plus admission to practice law in your location. Should have 8+ years of experience at a leading law firm or technology company, including at least 3 years advising on U.S. trade compliance (EAR, OFAC) regulations and programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated attention to detail and a positive outlook with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work flexible hours (this role requires frequent collaboration with non-US-based team members).
