Associate General Counsel Litigation Responsibilities: Partner with other members of the Kontoor legal team to lead and manage all claims and litigation matters. Providing employment advice and counseling to HR and business leaders on a wide variety of employment and employee benefits issues to ensure that policies, practices and decisions comply with applicable laws. Counsel and advise management regarding a broad range of employment matters including disputes, terminations and hiring practices. Assist in the development of new policies and procedures and providing updates and advice on policies. Manage and direct the defense of employment litigation and claims against the company. Formulate employment litigation strategies, including settlement and trial decisions. Research and provide legal advice on diverse and complex federal, state and local laws. Keep informed of new laws, regulations and industry trends that could affect the company and proactively make recommendations for changes to practices and policies. Provide training with HR and management on employment and labor related topics. Analyzing, developing, and delivering litigation and dispute resolution strategies in line with the company's business requirements to reduce risks. Managing outside counsel and significant litigation budgets and driving efficiencies in external legal spend and relationships. Serving as liaison between internal business personnel and external counsel for purposes of defending and/or prosecuting litigation. Tracking and advising executive leadership on claims and litigation developments, exposures, and strategies for minimizing adverse consequences from disputes. Monitoring legislative developments and trends and, as a result, proactively shaping the company's litigation function and litigation governance. Coordinating and handling litigation reporting and public litigation disclosure and ensuring quality and consistency of reporting.

Qualifications: JD (Juris Doctor Degree). Should have 8+ years of litigation and employment law counseling experience. Experience with advertising/marketing, privacy, and intellectual property legal issues is a plus. Knowledge and ability to provide prompt, practical counsel on aspects of employment law. Ability to provide practical and creative solutions to employment issues while minimizing legal risk. Ability to identify changes in law and ensure compliance, propose guideline and practice changes, and educate and train internal customers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment required. Excellent judgment and outstanding negotiation and problem-solving skills are required.
