Employment Counsel Duties: The candidate will be providing sound, actionable, legal advice to human resource and business leaders on all aspects of employment law. Developing and reviewing written HR policies, guidance documents and communications. Advising on the merits of employment claims filed against or on behalf of the Company; working with the appropriate business leaders to define strategic defenses and recommend settlements of disputes where warranted. Remaining current on changes in employment law, policy and practice that may impact busines operations, and partnering with business leaders to prepare for and implement necessary changes. Developing and delivering legal training for members of the HR team and other business partners on issues related to employment law and compliance with corporate policy. Directing and overseeing internal investigations conducted by USA's HR and Ethics & Compliance departments. Working closely with the legal team and other leaders on policy initiatives and special compliance projects. Advising on how corporate changes, including mergers and acquisitions, may affect USA's business operations and individual employees. Evaluating the status of independent contractors. Escalating issues appropriately to the Deputy General Counsel for Labor & Employment. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to 's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Performing additional duties, as applicable.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree; JD degree from an accredited law school. Actively licensed and in good standing with any U.S. Bar. 7-10 years of employment law experience with a law firm or corporate legal department. Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision making. Ability to analyze legal research, investigation results, relevant data, and/or fact patterns to arrive at effective, economical solutions. Experience handling labor and employment matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees, HR, business partners and other members of the legal department. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must. Experienced professional with great relationship skills, team player, self-starter, independent thinker, and ability to anticipate the next steps and future issues. Ability to multi-task in a diverse and fast-paced environment, be flexible, and prioritize responsibilities. Strong ability to quickly grasp the business objectives and strategies of a complex multi-national organization and support the achievement of those objectives. Strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office, software, technology, spreadsheets, and tools. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by ***'s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Occasional travel may be required depending on assignments and business requirements.
