Fortune 500 company seeks a VP & Senior Labor Counsel to become a pivotal member of the company’s executive leadership. Responsibilities: (1) Lead all labor negotiations including labor arbitrations, mediations, and collective bargaining negotiations, and/or union organizing campaigns, and assist in making key decisions relating to labor relations for the corporation; (2) Prepare for contract negotiations and act as chief spokesperson for the corporation in negotiations with bargaining unit representatives; (4) Counsel CEO and senior executives on all matters involving labor laws and collective bargaining agreements; (5) Handle and administer all grievances from initial filings up to and including arbitrations and mediations, as well as represent the corporation in various administrative agency proceedings. Requirements: (1) 8+ years experience of traditional labor law practice with a mid to large size law firm or combination of practice with such a firm and in-house experience; (2) Extensive experience in collective bargaining negotiations is a must; (3) Extensive experience in union representation campaigns required: and (3) A broad knowledge of all areas of labor and related employment law (e.g., NLRA, EEOC, and NLRB proceedings) Company offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits (including matching 401K), a company car, and relocation package (where applicable).
