The candidate will report to the Group Head, lead Core Products Counsel. Will draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts; counsel clients with respect to the product development cycle; and provide direction for company regulatory compliance with respect to such products. Handle structuring, drafting, and negotiating product development and distribution agreements such as contracts for the development and distribution of new features and benefits associated with core payment products, services agreements, pilot agreements, commercial alliances, strategic business transactions and technology licensing agreements with company customer banks, processors, program managers, merchants, vendors, and other partners. Participate in the product development process, issue-spotting and liaising with subject matter experts (internal and external) to guide the team to workable solutions. Review sales and marketing materials, press releases, and other internal and external communications. Advise senior management teams on the identification and analysis of complex legal issues and commercial risks.

The candidate should have a law degree from a top-tier school. Must be licensed to practice in one or more states, including New York. Should preferably have 4+ years of legal experience. In-house experience a plus. Familiarity with company core payments business whether prepaid, ATM, credit, commercial, or debit, or related businesses such as money transmission, prepaid program management and processing, P2P, mobile, and/or e-commerce, including associated laws and regulations (money transmitter, foreign exchange, remittance, AML, data protection/privacy, intellectual property) is required.
