Cincinnati OH Planned Giving Officer Duties: Will be responsible for cultivating endowment commitments from a targeted list of current donors and Federation supporters. This will involve face-to-face conversations and personalized follow-up to generate meaningful results. Work with Federation development team to identify, cultivate and steward target list of prospective planned giving donors. Help to develop a fundraising plan in conjunction with staff and key volunteer leaders. Reach out to prospects and initiate a conversation regarding longer-term commitments as part of estate planning. Follow-up as appropriate to address questions and secure commitments. Cultivate relationships with select lawyers, financial planning professionals, bankers, and accountants in the community to encourage commitments from their clients. Work with the marketing staff to ensure that messaging regarding planned giving is included in the appropriate Federation marketing initiatives. Stay informed of tax law changes or other factors that will affect the environment for planned giving. Work with partner agencies to help them establish planned giving programs. Provide strategic input and collaborate as part of the Federation s overall fundraising team.

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of experience in a development/fund raising role. Thorough understanding of estate planning/ financial planning issues relating to charitable contributions. Proven ability to raise significant funds from diverse sources. Technical Expertise: Brings a command of the estate planning and tax provisions that impact planned giving programs and affect donor decisions. Ability to work with donor management database. Ability to represent the Federation in a professional manner with a diverse group of potential donors and community partners. Preferred: Advanced degree in law, accounting, or business. Significant involvement in the Jewish community, either professionally or as a lay leader/volunteer.
