Arlington VA Legal Editor I - Environment Due Diligence Duties: Report, research, and write news stories and features (including complex and/or analytical pieces) on legal issues and developments; research, write, edit, and update material for reference publication(s); develop and maintain sources in the government and private sector; participate in production of unit's publication; develop and maintain knowledge of issues in the legal field; and act as back-up to the lead editor.

Qualifications: A Juris doctor degree or substantial coursework toward a law degree combined with 2 years professional legal writing experience; experience in legal research, analysis, and writing in federal and state regulatory, legislative, and judicial processes; ability to carry out assigned research and writing projects within deadlines and with general supervision; excellent editing and organizational skills; ability to effectively interact with people at all levels, both inside and outside the company; and ability to effectively conduct personal and telephone interviews. Knowledge of environmental law, including superfund and environmental due diligence a plus.
