Director, Labor Relations Duties: Will join the Corporate Division. Lead and/or part of the negotiation team for all labor contract negotiations for company. Lead strategic planning on contract negotiation preparation to include areas of business change/flexibility, process improvements, economics, etc. Develop applicable bargaining plans, negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements company wide. Develop and maintain progressive relationships with Union leadership via strong communication processes and initiatives. Oversight and accountability for the management of grievances, arbitration cases and National Labor Relations Board Charges that are filed by the unions. As part of this responsibility makes decisions regarding the negotiation and potential settlement of these cases. Handles arbitrations and oversees grievances. Respond to all NLRB charges; investigates and develops company position. Serves as primary liaison with the NLRB. Respond to OCRC/EEOC charges; investigates as required and services as the primary liaison with the appropriate Commissions. Responsible for working with executive management team to help them achieve their business goals, answering questions involving the collective bargaining agreements, giving advice and counsel on discipline related matters and guidance on potential workplace changes that may impact union represented employees. Will partner with General Counsel as final authority to make binding agreements with the unions that can and will impact operations and the finances of the business. Overall management responsibility for Labor Relations organization; develop the labor relations team to advise field operations and administer Collective Bargaining Agreement(s). Evaluates the labor relations function and structure to improve efficiency and effectiveness as well as provide professional and personal growth opportunities where possible. Assures compliance with all related legal requirements (local, state, and federal). Trains supervisors and managers regarding administration of the labor agreement(s). Visits various plants; works closely with operations management to identify labor relations needs and issues. Represents the Company to various community and governmental organizations. Assures compliance with all company policies. Supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification Requirements: A Masters Degree in Human Resources and Labor / Industrial Relations required. Law degree preferred. Demonstrated negotiations skills. Demonstrated industry understanding: operations, customers, suppliers, market, business climate, labor agreements. Knowledge of Federal and State Employment / Labor law compliance (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRB, etc.). Demonstrated team and individual leadership skills. In-depth emotional intelligence: Demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence and the ability to prevent, reduce and resolve conflict. Demonstrated ability to interact with all types of people, respectful treatment of others, and awareness of multi-cultural backgrounds and differences. Computer proficiency and demonstration understanding of business information systems. In-depth communications skills: demonstrated ability to present material orally or in writing in an articulate and concise manner; demonstrated ability to listen to and process others points of view. In-depth decision making and negotiation skills; demonstrated ability to recognize alternatives, evaluate relevant information and make timely decisions. Demonstrated ability to generate new ideas and process improvements; challenges the status quo and champions new initiatives.
