Claims Trainee The candidate will perform the required analysis, investigation and claim handling functions to enable them to make appropriate recommendations with regards to claims management and ultimate resolution. Will gain a full understanding of the claims department and how the department interacts with other areas of the organization. At the completion of the program, will have successfully completed various activities and rotational assignments, including: business unit rotations within company that involve claims handling, job shadowing and special assignments; earning the preeminent claims designation, the Associate in Claims, from The Institutes; various reading assignments and self-study courses on a diverse range of insurance topics, providing a foundation of claims and general insurance knowledge; learn and perform functions utilizing the various claims systems and programs; participation in University and Claim College seminars and workshops; and participation in Toastmasters to develop communication and public speaking skills.

The candidate should have a completion of Bachelor's degree. Minimum 3.0 GPA is required; 3.5 GPA is preferred. Law school and MBA graduates will be considered. Proven work track record through internships, co-ops or other business work experience is required. Proven leadership through extracurricular activities and civic involvement is needed. Must have strong critical, analytical and investigative skills. Superior verbal and written communication skills are required. Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills are needed.
