Legal Leader/Associate General Counsel Duties: Will report dotted line to the President of the company's and directly to the Avis Budget Group General Counsel or the Legal Director for Avis Budget Group. Will serve as the senior legal adviser and leader covering company's global business operations. The Legal Leader will counsel a variety of in-house clients at all levels regarding the legal/business implications of the applicable legal and/or business challenges of company. Will manage particular legal projects, business transactions, litigation and/or corporate compliance matters and build, maintain and utilize, for company's benefit, a network of professional relationships. Will also manage the work of external legal counsel and sometimes that of less experienced attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff. Work closely with the global in-house legal staff and outside counsel worldwide to coordinate transactions and other matters outside of the United States of America. Assist in the development of and support company's business strategies, goals and objectives, by serving as a true business partner, balancing risks appropriately against business objectives, and discerning issues of real importance from minor ones. Provide leadership with respect to particular matters, clients, colleagues and others. Reviews litigation claims and assists with recommending next steps and resolving disputes prior to mediation or trial; and manages outside counsel. Recommends changes to contracts, franchise documents and lease terms to protect the organization and reduce costs. Works independently on most routine tasks to manage projects, negotiate and close business transactions, manage litigation and implement company's policies. The impact of the scope of work will vary from matter to matter; and the range could vary from a routine local area commercial contract to a global company's initiative or transaction. Keep the General Counsel well informed as to matters handled by the AGC or that may otherwise come to attention. Always work and set a tone of unwavering dedication to the highest of ethical standards in compliance with both the letter and spirit of company's Code of Business Conduct. Manage various projects and deadlines.

Qualification Requirements: The candidate must be admitted to practice law by the Bar of at least one State in the United States of America. 12 years of practice in a corporation or law office; with some of those years of practice including handling complex transactions and litigation. Experience making nuanced recommendations and business decisions based upon the facts, applicable law and the company's culture. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent analytical and research ability, written and oral ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams. The ability to speak fluently in lay terms to a range of audiences about the business goals, legal priorities and challenges of company. Strong work ethic with the ability to handle a fast paced vigorous schedule. Some travel may be required.
