Regional Sales Manager CL National The candidate will provide leadership and direction to a team of telephonic sales professionals toward meeting company objectives in the areas of new sales revenue, retention revenue, growth of base business and market penetration. Meet or exceed sales revenue and expense control objectives. Determine the long- and short-term goals and direction for the branch based on overall organizational strategy. Develop key contacts and business relationships with members of the business unit and key support providers within the company organization. Know the key accounts within the territory and understand their needs. Develop and deliver an effective branch business plans, including accurate revenue forecasts. Thorough identification of competitive threats and development of effective countermeasures. Ensure skills of sales professionals are in line with the demands of the marketplace and company sales objectives, including product knowledge, key process knowledge, knowledge of the competition, sales techniques, relationship building, making effective sales presentations and negotiation skills. Translate company and departmental sales objectives into sales programs and initiatives. Attract, recruit, and retain top talent. Motivate and lead a high performance sales team. Provide leadership and management to ensure adoption and practice of the Reed Elsevier core values. Define measurable expectations of each role within the branch. Evaluate performance against expectations of all staff. Interact with corporate legal and compliance customers and prospects positively and with added value. Maintain relationships with key accounts. Utilize and reinforce all required processes, tools and systems including Siebel and TAOP 14. Other duties as assigned.

The candidate should have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; J.D. or legal sales experience is a plus. Must have 7+ years of successful sales experience in solutions-oriented sales environment. 5+ years of proven sales leadership and management experience is preferred. Experience working in a highly complex matrixes corporate environment. Should have strong leadership and team building skills. In-depth legal industry knowledge and the ability to quickly develop an in depth understanding of LN products and services are required. Must have understanding and expertise in computer hardware and software including Windows XP, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and the Internet. Strong time management, organizational and forecasting skills are needed. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills are required. Solid negotiation skills and the ability to network effectively both internally and externally is needed. Must have deep understanding of Strategic Selling, Value selling, Team Selling, and CRM systems (Siebel is preferred). Strong business and financial acumen is required. Ability to lift or carry laptop and collateral sales materials of approximately 25 pounds is required.
