Environmental Counsel Responsibilities: Supports mergers & acquisitions, and the integration of HSE aspects and requirements within newly-acquired operations as well as supporting existing operations with health, safety and environmental aspects globally. Works with global and regional HSE subject matter experts to support manufacturing, research and sales operations. Consults with and advises senior management on HSE matters. Reports to the Sr. Director - Regulatory Legal Team. Advise manufacturing and research site globally on key regulatory aspects, particularly of the animal health business, such as: Vaccines and increased associated bio-safety issues; Chemical management and registration regulations in the US, Europe and China, such as TSCA and REACH; Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) requirements in Europe; Globally Harmonized System (GHS) requirements in the United States; Safety Data Sheet requirements; Pesticide and insecticide compliance, such as FIFRA in the United States; Advice regarding health, safety and environmental aspects of due diligence, and support transition activities of newly acquired facilities. Support the integration of newly acquired animal health businesses, including facilities in the US, Europe, and Asia; Participate in due diligence reviews; and Assist newly-integrated animal health sites in permitting, regulatory compliance and conformance to internal standards, support remediation efforts at newly acquired animal health sites. Contractual advice on health, safety and environmental aspects of third party partners. Advise regarding appropriate contractual language for third party manufacturing and research organizations. Assist in evaluation of external party assessments. Advise regarding structure and governance of oversight of third parties.

Qualifications: J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school is required. 5+ years of experience legal counseling in environmental, health and safety matters, preferably in-house in an industry with manufacturing operations, including compliance counseling, permits, enforcement matters, environmental remediation and environmental due diligence in transactions. Experience working with legislation and regulation in Europe and/or China is preferred. Deadline: December 2, 2014
