Commercial Loan Funder Closer I / II / III Responsibilities: Handle Corporate Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and Wealth Management (WMG) loan documentation and closing related functions, and will be involved in initial fundings and ongoing disbursements. Support team by providing a variety of due-diligence and documentation review functions. Review draft loan documents and address issues/concerns with attorneys, lenders and customers. Remain up to date on all policies, procedures and training. Identify and address and/or elevate issues and exceptions with Manager. Ensure funding is in compliance with loan documentation and according to the Bank s required policies and procedures. Mentor other staff members within the Funding Desk. Review all documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and BBVA Compass credit policy before loans are closed. Review the loan approval for accuracy and compliance with policy. Order, review, and coordinate loan documents from attorney or internal documentation team. Review and negotiate loan documents to ensure loan is documented as approved. Gather and review all due diligence items required according to collateral type and loan policy Properly document any policy and/or due diligence exceptions throughout the closing/funding process. Carefully review and approve any documents provided by Third Party Vendors, if applicable. Compare documents and discuss discrepancies with underwriter and loan officer for resolution. Prepare and review loan closing package and coordinate signatures to ensure all documentation was properly executed. Prepare electronic booking work package and perform post close review to ensure loan boarded onto the system accurately. Fund loan according to approved terms and conditions to include verification of signors, advance rates, and compliance with all loan agreement requirements. Qualifications: C&I loan closer funder I: 1 year in Commercial and Industrial loan documentation and closing. 1 year within a financial institution and/or law firm with some experience working with Commercial and Industrial credits. C&I loan closer funder II: 2 years' Commercial and Industrial loan documentation and closing. 2 years' within a financial institution and/or law firm with extensive experience working with large Commercial and Industrial credits, specifically documentation and funding. C&I loan closer funder III: 5 years in Commercial and Industrial loan documentation and closing. 5 years' within a financial institution and/or law firm with extensive experience working with large Commercial and Industrial credits. 1 year of leadership experience Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Legal Studies or an equivalent of 4 years of professional experience. Paralegal experience is a plus. A combination of experience in two or more of these areas is highly desired legal, loan closing, loan administration, loan documentation, loan review, audit or compliance. Proven track record of in-depth review of all types of commercial loan documentation, along with extensive knowledge/experience in perfection of liens in accounts receivable, inventory, equipment, vehicles, negotiable securities, aircraft, ship mortgages, etc. Knowledge of Letters of Credit, financial covenants, government entities, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, and agricultural. Detail Oriented. Must be able to identify loan documents and lien perfection documents. Ability to handle stress and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting time-sensitive deadlines. Focus on meeting strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally to all levels within the organization to include peers and executive management.
