Assistant General Counsel -- Regulatory Duties: Provide legal support in furtherance of business strategy to develop, own, and operate utility-scale solar and wind energy projects. Represent the company before Federal and state regulators. Develop and execute federal and regulatory strategy for development projects, including obtaining correct and timely regulatory status, certifications and qualifications as required by federal and state regulations and by financing parties, as well as provide regulatory support for interconnection agreements, participation in PUC-governed RFPs, and approvals for PPAs. Development and execution of federal and state regulatory strategy for mergers and acquisitions, including oversight of diligence of federal and state regulatory issues. Maintain state and federal regulatory compliance for operating projects, including notices of change in status and REC certifications. Represent Company in appropriate state and federal rulemakings, investigations and other proceedings that affect the Company's business. Develop and execute strategies for Company participation in appropriate proceedings involving regional markets that are likely to affect Company's business interests. Provide regulatory legal expertise and support for solar and wind energy projects. Develop and execute regulatory strategy for development projects, including making required regulatory filings and obtaining necessary approvals in the timeframe required by the development team and financing parties. Perform regulatory due diligence and obtain needed regulatory approvals to support mergers and acquisitions. Maintain regulatory compliance for assets in operation. Advocate on behalf of the company's interests in connection with rulemakings, investigations and policymaking proceedings. Support development of regulatory strategy for new technologies, markets and programs. Provide regulatory support to asset management team for registration of assets, completion of financial assurance policies and other market participant requirements. Work as a team and as an effective manager of resources, both internal and external.

Requirements: J.D. Degree and must be admitted in a U.S. jurisdiction to practice law. 8+ years of federal and state regulatory experience representing utilities, independent power producers, or developers of electric generation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission or state public utility commissions. Experience as in-house counsel preferred but not required. Training with top tier law firm preferred. Previous experience conducting due diligence for merger and acquisitions or representing companies before the Maine Public Utilities Commission or other state utilities commissions. Previous experience in a legal counsel role in a renewable energy company. Ability to identify risks and propose solutions to mitigate risks. Proficient in Windows environment, MS Office, Outlook, Excel; technically savvy.
