Corporate Counsel Duties: Providing legal services to the corporation in a wide range of areas, including: domestic and international employment, safety and liability claims, regulatory, compliance and contracts and litigation management. Ensure that all organization activities are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. Will work in collaboration with the organization to review and ensure legally compliant business policies, procedures, standard forms, plans and related materials. Serves as in-house legal advisor on all spectrum of potential legal issues. Provides legal advice and assist as requested in handling labor and employment law matters, including investigations, hiring and termination issues, employment contracts, and handling EEOC, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and International employment, regulatory bodies and other compliance issues. Integrates legal, business and practical analysis, and ability to identify risks and propose alternative arrangements to mitigate risks while accomplishing business objectives.. Evaluates employment and other practices for legal risk, establish priorities for process improvements, and execute on established priorities. Drafts, reviews, and/or revises playbooks, policies, agreements, templates, and other standard business documents. Manages administrative proceedings with administrative agencies, responses to inquiries, and audit oversight, etc. Requirements: A J.D. Degree from an accredited law school; license to practice law in the State of Ohio. 5 years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience. Experience in one or more of the following areas: labor and employment, litigation, contracts, regulatory/compliance, international, risk management and data protection and privacy. Knowledge of the basic laws applicable to contract interpretation and negotiation, litigation processes and procedures, and human resources. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the company. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects. Demonstrated ability to positively influence. Strong closing skills. Ability to research Federal, State, local and International laws, codes, regulations and court decisions. Ability to evaluate of practical consequences of legal strategies.
