Director, Policy & Electricity Markets Duties: Report to the Vice President of PEM and be responsible for representing the company at our manufacturing base of Buffalo, NY and for advocating for the company s federal policy positions, both legislative (e.g., energy and tax) and regulatory (e.g., housing policy). Represent the company in the Buffalo region, with local business and political groups, and also in D.C. with hill offices, federal agencies and the Administration. The position will be based in the company s office. Representing the company s public policy interests at the manufacturing hub. Advocacy and analysis relating to federal energy, manufacturing and tax legislative and regulatory policy. Preparing written materials to assist with advocacy efforts (fact sheets, briefing papers, memos, testimony). Representing as a general expert in legislative and agency meetings. Building robust network of contacts, champions and allies to leverage advocacy effectiveness. Supporting engagement with industry associations. Serve as the public face of manufacturing plant in the Buffalo region. Qualifications: bachelor's degree from a top-tier school. 5+ years experience working in energy policy. Further consideration will be given to those with MBA or JD degrees. Familiarity with electricity industry players, economics, and trends. Familiarity with MS Excel. Ability to communicate complicated and technical points clearly. Ability to rapidly assimilate and synthesize information. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Basic familiarity with financial/accounting principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
