Senior Manager, US Local Public Policy Duties: Will create, execute and manage local government affairs objectives. Working with the Director of US State Public Policy and other state and local policy team members, the Senior Manager will be responsible for identifying the unique needs and opportunities for local outreach, and establish relationships with public officials in communities where we have existing and planned development. Will work collaboratively with relevant business units, public relations, legal, and employee hiring teams to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals. Will assess and anticipate public policy matters that involve mayors, city councils, county commissioners, and chambers of commerce. The Senior Manager will relate developments back to the business, develop mitigation or enhancement strategies and positions, and manage and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives. The Senior Manager may attend local hearings on ordinances, workforce and economic development, permitting/zoning/land use, transportation, sustainability and other issues impacting significant development projects. Basic Qualifications: A BA/BS degree. Juris Doctor or Master s degree preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience with ?and a keen working understanding of ?the U.S. state and local policymaking process and government relations. Experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant and easily understandable talking points and other messaging. Experience identifying and understanding key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in state and/or local political environments, understanding business implications, and synthesizing information for internal and external customers. Significant experience interacting with state and local government officials and community leaders in a variety of settings, including in-office meetings, site visits, public events, and hearings Demonstrated work experience with companies, consultancies, trade associations, governmental agencies, or equivalent organization. Significant domestic travel as needed. A proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization.
