Will be expected to work closely with team members to ensure effective involvement of all parties who can add value to the health economics and reimbursement process on a company-wide basis. Direct and supervise staff as necessary to implement all of the above strategic and tactical initiatives. Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. Assure that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the Quality Policy. Establish and promote a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System. Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports company's Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure all employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.

The candidate should have a Master's or doctoral degree (e.g., M.S., MPH, MBA, Ph.D., DrPH, J.D.) or equivalent. Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, policy analysis, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care administration or related discipline preferred. Must have 10+ years of experience in health economics, health insurance reimbursement and/or outcomes research, preferably related to the medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Should have strong leadership, managerial, and technical skills in the areas of health economics and reimbursement. Must have a proven track record of success and be current in the field and able to work in a wide array of settings. Should have demonstrated knowledge of US and global healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to the device industry, and technology assessment. Must have ability to interpret and integrate business strategies into actionable, value-added health economics and reimbursement initiatives. Should have experience working as an internal or external consultant with responsibility for line customers, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.

The candidate will serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, participating in due diligence and structuring engagements related to transactions that private equity and strategic corporate entities pursue. Will identify and analyze tax risks and opportunities while advising both strategic and private equity buyers and sellers on alternative tax strategies for acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of businesses. Assist in reviewing and analyzing merger agreements and providing opinion letters. Review, assess, and advise clients regarding the tax computations reflected in their financial models, and assist clients in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the tax data in their financial projections for the transaction.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience OR a Graduate degree and 3 years of related work experience. An accounting major OR a Master's degree in accounting, MST or J.D./LL.M. would be preferred. Certification as a CPA, Enrolled Agent or Attorney required. Senior International Tax Counsel, Tax and Customs
The candidate will be a member of company's global tax planning team and will have specific responsibility for tax planning for an assigned part of the Strategic Planning Group, with a focus on international tax planning. Responsibilities will include cross border capital and legal entity structuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and dispositions. Responsibilities will also include the review and handling of US tax planning issues for the ongoing operations of global business. This will include Subpart F and foreign tax credit planning, trading patterns and finance, transfer pricing, and tax controversies and audits. Will also be responsible for coordinating advice and strategies with other members of the global tax and customs function, including compliance functions, as well as the US GAAP reporting of the advice and strategies with Corporate Financial Reporting group. Provide tax advice to business units and functions with an emphasis on company's operations outside of the US Tax planning entails development, issue identification, development of alternative solutions, recommendation to business unit and functions, assistance with implementation and if necessary post-implementation review. Provide tax advice to other members of the Tax Planning Group. Assist with development of legal arguments and management of external resources in connection with audit and litigation in the US. Provide ad hoc and continuous training to business units and functions on key tax initiatives and policies. Assist International and Federal group with complex US reporting issues.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Graduation with honors from top 25 law school preferred. MBA or other degree in quantitative area will be highly desired (e.g., economics or finance). Must have 7+ years of tax planning experience including 4+ years with a major law firm or Big Four public accounting firm. Experience must translate into an in-depth understanding of International and US taxation of domestic transactions and US taxation of mergers and acquisitions as well as the ability to model and optimize outcomes. Should have ability to identify and resolve issues associated with complex international transaction without assistance of a third party. Must have writing skills acquired through legal training as well as work on IRS rulings, appeals and/or litigation. Experience managing relationships with law firms and accounting firms needed. Should be willing and able to continue to learn the developing areas of tax laws. Additional experience in taxation of partnerships, financial products, income tax accounting and tax procedure / reporting preferred.
