President nominates Frank R. Jimenez as GC
Frank R. Jimenez of Florida has been nominated by President Bush as General Counsel of the Department of the Navy. At present, Jimenez is Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Defense. He has also served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Saint-Gobain promotes John Mesher
John Mesher has been promoted to a senior vice president position at Saint-Gobain Corporation. Since 1991, Mesher has served as Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Saint-Gobain. Saint-Gobain Corporation is an acclaimed well reputed company producing abrasives, high-performance plastics, and industrial ceramics and ranks among the top-100 companies in the world.

Jacqueline Hill joins Gazprom
Jacqueline Hill has been named General Counsel of Gazprom Market and Trading, replacing Carole Colley. She earlier served as head of the legal department at EDF Energy. The New Zealander is the sole in-house counsel for the U.K. subsidiary of the Russian natural gas giant.

Royal Mail replaces GC
Doug Evans joins Royal Mail as General Counsel, replacing Catherine Churchard. Evans was previously Director of Legal Services at Exel, which was recently sold off. Royal Mail is the leading online mail service in the U.K. and is seeking to restructure its IP team.

Philip Levine joins ION
Philip Levine has joined the Board of Directors of ION Networks Incorporated. Levine has held many key posts in financial management with public as well as private Corporations in 25 years of service. He was formerly Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Teldata, which later became Control Point Solutions. Established in 1982, ION Networks is located in New Jersey and provides security as well as device monitoring solutions across 35 countries.

Assurant Solutions appoints new Senior Counsel
Assurant Solutions has appointed Tara Caithie as Senior Counsel and Company Secretary for the U.K. and Europe. Prior to this, Caithie was with the Royal Bank of Scotland as a lawyer. In her new role, she will lead the legal and compliance group of the company. Assurant Solutions provides specialized insurance products and related services to industry leaders throughout North America, Latin America, and Europe.

New GC and VP at Depomed
Matthew Gosling has been named Vice President and General Counsel by Depomed, Inc. Working with Depomed as an outside legal counselor, he was a partner at Heller Ehrman LLP for nine years where he worked on general corporate matters and other business transactions representing public and private companies. Depomed, Inc. is a NASDAQ-listed pharmaceutical company.
