Sona Mobile Hires New GC
Sona Mobile Holdings Corp. has hired Kimberly Stein as its new general counsel. As a part of the executive management team and as the company's new GC, Stein will be responsible for all legal activity at Sona. Stein's expertise pertains to the gaming, banking, and securities industries. Recently, Stein was a partner at a law firm. She has also worked for companies such as Mikohn Gaming, Sun International Resorts, Casino Data Systems, and Alliance Bally Gaming. "We are excited to have Ms. Stein join our team of professionals," said CEO and chairman Shawn Kreloff. "As our general counsel, Kim's particular legal expertise in the Las Vegas gaming and technology sector, coupled with her extensive patent experience, will be very valuable to the company." Stein received her finance degree and her MBA from UNLV and her law degree from Boston University.
Getty Trust Hires New GC
The J. Paul Getty Trust has hired Stephen W. Clark as its new general counsel and vice president. Most recently, Clark served as the deputy general counsel of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He joined MoMA in 1994 as its assistant general counsel, handling labor and employment matters. Since 2002 he has acted as deputy general counsel. On April 21 Clark will replace the Getty Trust's interim and former general counsel, Peter Erichsen. Erichsen, who has served as GC since 2001, now resides at law firm Ropes & Gray as a partner.
Furniture Brands International Hires New GC
One of the nation's leading furniture stores, Furniture Brands has hired Jon Botsford as its new general counsel and secretary. Previously, Botsford spent 21 years at Steelcase Inc., where he most recently served as senior vice president, secretary, and chief legal officer. He will replace the retiring Lynn Chipperfield. "Jon brings a wealth of critical experience as Furniture Brands continues its transformation to an operating company," said vice chairman and CEO Ralph P. Scozzafava. "Because he is well versed in the challenges and opportunities of today's furnishings industry, Jon will make immediate contributions to our strategic plan of building our brand power, winning with customers, delivering operational excellence, and developing our people." Botsford received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from UCLA.
Clear Choice Health Plans Hires New GC
Clear Choice Health Plans has hired Sandra Loder, Esq., as its new general counsel. Her responsibilities will include directing all legal affairs, leading corporate strategy, managing complex business transactions, and overseeing risk management, among others. Most recently, Loder served as chief information officer at Clear Choice, and she has been with the company for nearly four years. Previously, she worked on information technology projects throughout the world as well as practiced law in Washington, DC. Loder earned her MBA from UCLA and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
