Keith Williamson has joined Centene Corporation's legal department as Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and General Counsel. Williamson will be based in the company's St. Louis headquarters and will serve as its chief attorney in his newly created position. Prior to joining Centene, Williamson spent nearly two decades with Pitney Bowes in Stamford. The company is already entrenched in litigation involving several memory-chip makers and anticipating an impending federal suit.

United Technologies appoints new GC
Charles Gill has been appointed as Hartford-based United Technologies Corporation (UTC)'s General Counsel. Gill, who replaces William Trachsel, most recently served as General Counsel of Carrier, a UTC division based in Farmington that manufactures air conditioners. First hired by UTC in 1995 to work as an engineer at Pratt & Whitney, Trachsel began his career with the company's legal department after earning his law degree and has held several important positions. Prior to joining UTC, Gill worked for law firm Robinson & Cole. UTC is a pioneer global technology corporation dealing with innovations in aerospace, aviation, helicopter design, climate control, elevator design, and hydrogen fuel cell development.

NRG Energy, Inc., has named Drew Murphy as its new Executive Vice President and General Counsel. With more than 15 years of experience representing issuers, developers, investors, and lenders in a wide variety of U.S. and cross-border energy projects and structured financings, Murphy will advise and support NRG on all legal matters relating to compliance, governance, and general business operations. An expert in development projects and financings, such as coal- and gas-fired power plants, transmission lines, gas storage facilities, waste-to-energy facilities, water treatment facilities, and renewable energy projects, Murphy formerly served law firm Hunton & Williams as Partner-in-Charge for its energy practice. NRG Energy, Inc., operates power-generating facilities in Texas, as well as in the Northeastern, South Central, and Western regions of the United States.
