Litigation Counsel

Dallas TX Litigation Counsel The candidate will manage a broad portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters in multiple practice areas and in all jurisdictions in which operates. Will take a hands-on approach to all facets of litigation, including responding to subpoenas and discovery requests, drafting and revising legal briefs, interviewing witnesses, preparing witnesses for testimony, and negotiating and drafting settlements. Manage all aspects of outside counsel relationships, including staffing, litigation strategy, work product, and budgets. Advise collaborators to address and resolve potential disputes to support our goals. Create scalable processes to help support a growing business.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Must have 4+ years of broad litigation experience at a law firm or in-house, handling complex commercial litigation, including class action litigation, alternative dispute resolution and pre-litigation disputes. Must be familiar with e-discovery issues, including document retention procedures; collection, review, and production of documents; and third-party subpoena compliance. Prior in-house experience at a technology or sharing economy company is a plus. Experience with antitrust law, employment law, intellectual property or consumer class actions is desired.

Advising on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance. Working closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle and coordinates legal matters handled by outside lawyers. Qualifications: Should have a Bachelors's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or similar background is a plus for roles within certain sub-disciplines. Must have completed a law degree and member of the Bar association in relevant jurisdictions. Must have 8+ years of related experience. Experienced commercial litigation lawyer with a solid background representing technology companies is required. Should have demonstrated deep general commercial or functional knowledge across a wide range of sub-disciplines within the individual's specialty area(s), (e.g., general corporate law, antitrust/competition law, securities compliance and regulatory, employment law, immigration law, cloud transactions, data privacy, risk management asset-backed financing, contract management, intellectual property, trade secrets, advertising law, registration and other resolutions specific to the computer and technology industry). Excellent legal skills and business judgment in areas of responsibility with proficiency in writing skills are necessary. Must be a problem-solver with the ability to juggle many competing priorities simultaneously, and who possesses the trait to go beyond simply issue spotting. Preferred Qualifications: Should preferably have 5-8 years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house. Experience in the high-tech area and copyright litigation.
