Senior Attorney Real Estate Transactions

Memphis TN Senior Attorney Real Estate Transactions Duties: Drafts, edits, negotiates, manages and advises on a wide variety of real estate transactions and contracts. Advises the Transactions and Development teams on matters related to acquisitions and dispositions of real estate assets (operating or land bank assets). Advises the Transactions, Development and Construction teams throughout the life cycle of the development of new apartment communities. Provides guidance to property and corporate management on contracts, liability and other related matters. Coordinate, assemble and review due diligence in connection with the marketing and sale of properties or financing transactions. Work with brokers, outside counsel, title insurers, surveyors, third party contractors and other in-house personnel to understand due diligence, pursue curative work, and responds to information requests. Assist with day-to-day legal issues related to declarations, reciprocal easement agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents, commercial leases, utility easements and other agreements. Review and analyze operative documents impacting the Shopping Centers in the portfolio, including restrictive covenants and REAs. Work with tenants to resolve disagreements and disputes. Conduct due diligence as necessary by reviewing underlying leases. Assist in negotiating purchase agreements and ancillary documents for acquisitions, dispositions and joint venture agreements. Provide legal advice to internal company clients. Manage and advise outside counsel.

The candidate should have 6+ years of experience working in real estate and demonstrate a detailed understanding of regulatory oversight and each aspect of the industry including capital markets, transactions, leasing, development and asset management. Must possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, has a positive attitude, and is comfortable working in an open office format. Must have a proven track record of success, performance and responsibility, and be inspired by the opportunities associated with a growing company.
